Some photoshop notes

HOW TO EQUALISE CHANNELS IN LAB MODE:
• Duplicate image (name duplicated file as LAB).
• Equalise A, B and Lightness.
• Copy and paste to original RGB file.
• Mask and brush to reveal as preferred.

FREAKY SHARPENING TOOL:
• Duplicate image.
• Invert duplicated layer.
• Change blending mode to vivid light.
• Filter > Blur > Surface blur (inverting the image has made all the filter sharpening tools to blur tools and vice versa).
• Duplicate all layers and merge.
• Change blend mode to overlay.
• Mask parts that do not require too much sharpening.

LUMINOSITY MASKS:
• ctrl + alt + 2 : brighter pixels selection
• ctrl click I on mask to invert
• Saving mask as an alpha channel:
– save in alpha channel . channels
– select RGB channels
– ctrl + shift + alt and click on 1st alpha channel to have an intersection of masks.
– rename as 2nd alpha channel
– repeat above steps to get gradually darker/lighter masks.
• basically you’ll know what i mean when you get there, so you can do the same to get darks without me having to explain.
